Game 2 wasn't any better for Cavs' fans, as the Golden State Warriors won 122-103 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Curry made nine 3-point shots, an NBA Finals record.

James can get the Cavaliers back in this series, he proved it by winning the Eastern Conference finals in seven games after Cleveland went down 2-0 to Boston, but he will need to be rejuvenated by the crowd in Cleveland because he looked very sluggish in game two.

But while the Cleveland Cavaliers struggled to contain the Warriors in a lot of ways on Sunday night - Golden State scored 50 points in the paint on 71 per cent shooting - it was the performance from Curry that underlined the embarrassment of riches that the Warriors have.

Warriors stars Steph Curry and Kevin Durant also took questions from reporters about what they expected in Game 3.

We'll have to wait until tonight to hear if she really shows up. "The First Lady returned home to the White House this morning". The first lady was joining the president at a White House reception Monday evening for Gold Star families .

"To be on top of that 3-point list is pretty special", Curry said. "But the job is not done, and you can't relax or be comfortable when you're still trying to win this thing". Ray Allen had the single-game record (8, 2010), and LeBron James had the highest career total (85 Sunday night's game).

"They made a ton of 3s", Warriors coach Steve Kerr recalled. "You know, nine threes and seemed to hit the big shot every time we needed one". The Cavaliers just weren't connected defensively and it allowed the Warriors to get going early with McGee in the first quarter, but to their credit, they were able to weather the storm of the third quarter to give themselves half a chance in the fourth.

If you weren't watching, you missed one of the most infamous moments in NBA Finals history.

"It was big", Curry said. James said. "You're saying I got criticized for something, right? In 2016, the award went to James for helping Cleveland overcome a 3-1 deficit and win the title in heroic fashion. Though Love played him well two years ago, that was just one sequence in which Curry was unsuccessful.

The Warriors will be happy to see that Curry played at full-swagger and the rest of their offence clicked.

Curry opened the game missing four of his first five 3-point attempts in the first quarter as Golden State had a 32-28 lead.

"It looks like he's lining himself up for something great if we continue to win", Draymond Green told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Cavaliers' forward Kevin Love provided a spark with 22 points but it was not enough to pressure the Warriors, who shot 57 per cent from the field and 41 per cent from behind the arc.

If the quantity of Curry's three-pointers weakened Cleveland, the sheer quality of those shots broke the Cavs' resistance as the two-time National Basketball Association champion appeared to be scoring at will, no matter who Cleveland chose to pair him with.

Now, LeBron James and company are home underdogs as they are in desperation mode to get back in the series. He said that it was "typical" of President Donald Trump to rescind the entire team's invitation because some of the players refused to attend.
