Kwesi Nyantakyi Apologises....But Says That's "Not An Admission Of Wrong Doing"

The comment comes as several high profile officials of the Ghana FA including the President of the Association were seen taking bribes from Anas' men to compromise their decisions on the game and other interests.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have been dissolved with immediate effect after the President of the association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, was filmed accepting a "cash gift".

Federation Internationale de Football Association said on Friday it was suspending Nyantakyi for 90 days.

What is clear though, is that the FA president will be out of anything football in Ghana, Africa or across the globe for a period of 90 days a statement from the Ethics Committee of FIFA said.

Nyantakyi went ahead to "apologise unreservedly to the father of the Nation, H.E. Nana Akufo Addo, H.E. the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Hon. Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State for indiscretion in associating them with the private conversations on the video", Nyantakyi's statement continued.

Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo has called for criminal investigations against Nyantakyi. "I take sole and personal responsibility for the proceedings on the video", he added. "This is by no means an admission of wrong doing for issues on the video" he said.

Nyantakyi, a CAF vice president and member of the FIFA Council, told undercover reporters pretending to be wealthy businessmen interested in sponsoring the Ghana Premier League that he could set up a separate company to act as the agent in the supposed deal and charge between 20-25 percent from the GFA.
