Android P Beta 3 released: We’re getting closer

Today, shortly after Google announced both July security patches and a new Android P beta, Essential is rolling out both to the Essential Phone. "Beta 3 is an early release candidate build of Android with near-final system behaviors and the official Android P APIs (API level 28)", Google noted. Since we're closing in on Developer Preview 5 and the final release, not much has changed, but there are enough tweaks that we thought a video was necessary.

The Essential Phone is already joining the party. However, there is an update to Android Studio, including D8 as an independent tool. Google could again follow this approach where Digital Wellbeing first launches on the Pixel 3 before coming to other devices through a later X.1 release before the year's end. That's still listed in the dev options as of this release, but we have no idea if it will remain available in the final version.
