Cruise ship worker treads water for 22 hours before being rescued

"We are also extremely grateful to Carnival Cruise Line and send our deepest thanks to the crew of Carnival Glory", said a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line in an email.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, told the Herald the rescue was "nothing short of miraculous".

"Kudos to the Carnival Glory team for this unbelievable effort to rescue a fellow seafarer", Duffy said.
