Trump 'Close to Determining' No Mueller Interview, Giuliani Says

Rudy Giuliani says he has "no concerns" about the possibility that President Trump's longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen will cooperate with federal investigators.

In an interview last week with Stephanopoulos, Cohen acknowledged that he soon could face criminal charges in an ongoing Federal Bureau of Investigation probe of his finances and business dealings.

"Michael Cohen should cooperate with the government", Giuliani said.

Giuliani says he has advised Trump that there should be "no discussion of pardons", adding that is "something you can decide down the road".

A tweet from Davis on Monday implies that Guiliani wasn't talking about the actual truth, but a version of the story that would benefit the president, and that neither Trump nor Guiliani have what could be called a close relationship with "truth" by any definition. "I put family and country first".

Giuliani also addressed preconditions that Mueller would have to meet before being allowed to interview the president himself.

"I have a pretty good idea because I have seen all the documents that they have", Mr. Giuliani said on CNN, adding the investigation had produced 1.4 million documents.

On ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Giuliani stressed that he wasn't anxious about testimony that Cohen might give.

On CNN's "State of the Union", host Dana Bash asked if Giuliani was going back on his past comments that he didn't think Cohen would "flip" on Trump.

"Mr. Comey continued his Machiavellian behavior after President Trump was elected", Kasowitz wrote. "They have to give us factual basis leading to some suspicion of a crime".

The suspect turned around and looked at the frantic mother - "with his eyes bugged" - but kept going, she said. A man got into her vehicle while she was inside paying for gas, the woman told KDFW-TV .

Giuliani also spoke confidently of Mueller's investigation of his predecessor, Trump's former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, in connection to the president's relationship with and Cohen's payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

He said that the president would not agree to be interviewed as part of the Mueller probe unless the special counsel "can satisfy us that there's some basis for this investigation".

He said Giuliani is taking public positions - such as setting conditions for a possible Trump-Mueller interview - because he realizes that this case is playing out in the court of public opinion.

"It's our firm belief, and we think nothing contradicts this, the president did nothing wrong", he said.

Cohen's attorney, however, urged the president and his lawyers to buckle up.

Cohen was Trump's self-described fixer and a key player in the Trump Organization for more than a decade, regularly berating reporters and threatening lawsuits against anyone who posed a challenge to his boss. There is no indication when the Mueller probe might end and his team has not publicly responded to Trump's frequent attacks on it, claiming it is biased against him.
