At the age of 33, many football players are past their peak.

Jose Mourinho has stated that the Premier League is now the best league in the world, following Cristiano Ronaldo's move from Real Madrid to Juventus.

Some see it as an extravagant sum for a player who, although a five-time Ballon d'Or victor, is entering the latter stages of a glittering career.

Do you think Ronaldo will succeed at his new club?

Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled by Juventus on Monday evening after passing a medical earlier in the day and said he was proud to have been purchased by the Italian giants and proud to be apart of such a prestigious club.

Ronaldo, who joined Juventus this month for around $117 million, has been mired by a legal battle in Spain after it was alleged that he failed to pay over $17 million in taxes between 2011 and 2014. Giggs, who played alongside Ronaldo at United, says that CR7's obsession with being compared to Lionel Messi propelled the move to a different country and a new league.

"I'm very well, physically and emotionally".

He added: "The age is not important, I feel good, I feel motivated, excited". I'm ambitious and like challenges, and I don't like to be in my comfort zone - I hope to go down in history for Juventus as I did for Manchester and Real. "It gives me so much motivation for the future".

The Champions League winners had already described reports linking them with the Brazil man, 26, as "outright false" on 2 July.

Cristiano Ronaldo has signed for the Bianconeri in a £99.2 million switch and of course he was never going to be wearing any other shirt number than #7 because of the vast global appeal he brings to the table.

Just imagine if the next time they face up to each other is in the European final - there might just be some rivalry then.

Instead, Ronaldo will now face Napoli as a Juve player in Serie A over the coming season. In the end, Real Madrid were able to lift a continental trophy, but even that wasn't enough to dissuade the star striker from departing in the summer.
