Daley Blind Closing In On €21m Manchester United Departure

The 28-year-old Holland global swapped the Amsterdam giants for Old Trafford four years ago in a £14million deal.

Manchester United's Daley Blind is set for a return to Ajax after the two clubs reportedly agreed a £14.1m fee for the defender.

But since Jose Mourinho arrival in 2016, Blind's playing time has decreased significantly.

The Dutch giants have now agreed a fee with Manchester United of an initial €16m, potentially rising as high as €21m, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

The 28-year-old Dutchman joined Manchester United from Ajax in the summer of 2014.

Blind, a Dutch global, previously spent four years with the Ajax senior club before moving over to United four summers ago. Blind, on the other hand, is also believed to be keen on a return to the Netherlands, with Ajax his preferred option there.

Blind has made 141 appearances in the past four years, and has was won the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.

However, Blind struggled for form and fitness last season and barely featured during Mourinho's second season at the club.

Blind returned to United for pre-season training but was left out of the squad which travelled to America on Sunday.
