As Bryce Harper was besting Schwarber in the Derby's final, Twitter was filled with serious allegations of Home Run Derby misconduct.

Bryce Harper hit a total of 45 home runs in winning Monday night's Home Run Derby at Nationals Park.

Harper joins Ryne Sandberg and Todd Frazier as the only players to win the Home Run Derby at their home ballparks.

Harper finished second in the 2013 Derby, but things went better this time.

Milwaukee's Aguilar, the NL home run leader at the break, was eliminated in the opening round by Hoskins 17-12.

And in each case, he went on a tear, hitting 12 homers after the breather in both rounds. Schwarber then barely edged out Bregman, the only American League hitter, by a score of 16-15. However, Schwarber hit a hot streak and edged him out with time to spare. Aguilar entered with 24 homers, good for the most in the National League and the most among 2018 Home Run Derby participants. Muncy followed with another victory by one, 17-16, over Javier Baez of the Cubs.
