In a series of back-and-forth tweets with a Twitter user named Yoda, Musk asked: "You don't think it's odd he hasn't sued me?" He also badgered a Twitter user about why his claim aboutUnsworth had not been investigated. He had criticised Musk's proposal for the use of a mini-submarine in the operation, calling it a "PR stunt" and said that the prototype had "absolutely no chance of working".

A Tuesday night Twitter conversation saw Elon Musk making reference to the "pedo guy" claims that earned him criticism in July. There is no indication that Musk's allegation is true, and he provided no justification or proof to back up his claim.

The clash appeared to have been resolved after Mr Musk deleted his offending tweets. "I worked with Silver Lake, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, who have world-class expertise in these matters, to consider the many factors that would come into play in taking Tesla private, and to process all the incoming interest that we received from investors to fund a go-private transaction", Musk wrote.

On Twitter on Tuesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied that he cried during a New York Times interview earlier this month.

Unsworth later responded to Musk's comments, telling the Guardian: "I believe he's called me a paedophile".

L. Lin Wood, a lawyer retained by the British diver Vernon Unsworth, whom Elon Musk called a "pedo", is "preparing a civil complaint for libel" against Musk, BuzzFeed reported. "He was offered free legal services", Musk said in a response to Drew Olanoff, who is vice president of communications for Scaleworks, a San Antonio-headquartered venture equity firm. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is known for his innovation, but it's hard to tell if he will embrace blockchain technology anytime soon.

Mr Musk has been embroiled in another Twitter-related controversy over recent weeks after tweeting that he was considering taking his vehicle firm private, adding that he had secured the funds required.
