Missouri college drops Nike over Kaepernick ad

It's been a insane week for the people at Nike after they announced the signing of Colin Kaepernick to be the face of their new "Just Do It" campaign and the backlash that proceeded it. Kaepernick speaks about the idea of dreaming big and then going out and accomplishing those dreams, using LeBron James, Shaquem Griffin and Serena Williams as some examples of people who have pushed themselves to achieve goals that many would have perceived as impossible.

Nike announced its campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick on Monday, with an image of the football player's face overlaid with text saying, "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything".

Apex Marketing - which analyzes the value of social-media impact on brands - reported that in the first three days after the announcement of Kaepernick as a spokesperson, Nike reaped "buzz" mentions that equated to $163.5 million in value.
