A campaign mailer accusing NY gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon of anti-Semitism was drafted and approved by people connected with incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo's campaign team.

But Ms. Nixon, who is gay, says polling doesn't capture hundreds of thousands of people who have registered to vote over the last two years, and she points to a recent mailer from Cuomo allies casting her as anti-Semitic as evidence the race is close.

In an interview on Tuesday with the Time On Politics reporter Lisa Lerer, Nixon said of the mailer: "I thought it was disgusting and cynical and really surprising that Andrew Cuomo's New York State party would stoop to this kind of fear-mongering and lies".

She's a high-profile example of an insurgent left-wing trying to oust establishment incumbents. The mailer had charged that she had been "silent on the rise of anti-Semitism" and attempted to link her to the ongoing movement to boycott Israel.

Philippines: 10 million people in the path of Mangkhut
The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System said the more than 27.3 million people will be exposed to the power of Mangkhut. PAGASA defines a super typhoon as a weather disturbance carrying more than 220 kilometers per hour (kph) of maximum center winds.

Cuomo himself snuffed out speculation that he might run for president in 2020, pledging in his only debate with Nixon that he would serve a full four-year term if re-elected this year.

Cuomo has countered he has a record of passing same-sex marriage and paid family leave in NY state and has declared that "nobody has stood up to Donald Trump like I have".

Best known for her stint as Miranda on HBO's "Sex and the City", the Emmy-winning Nixon has always been politically active, particularly in matters of LGBTQ rights; Nixon identifies as bisexual and is married to a woman. Williams has a base of support in Brooklyn's black community and has won some endorsements that Nixon did not, raising the possibility that he could win and leave Cuomo with an antagonist as his number two. "Sometimes primary voting is all about sending a message", Cunningham added.

In 2014, Cuomo faced attorney Zephyr Teachout in the Democratic primary, a race similar to Thursday's in which Teachout attempted to unseat Cuomo from his left.

But the offense was stalled again on fourth down as a sack-fumble put an end to a nightmare game that started like a dream. Defensive lineman Kenny Clark jumped on it, closing the book on Green Bay's first win of the season.

New York City has historically had issues with voter rolls. She could have brought up his failure to address gerrymandering, an issue that Cuomo ran on in 2010.

Underwood says she hopes it's clear the office "is the sum of all its staff". "I just think that there's been a lot of missed opportunities". "He controls the state committee", Nixon said. And progressives may not be as powerful in a statewide primary as in certain districts. Cuomo denied all knowledge of the mailer's contents. But Sanders steered clear of the governor's race. And despite Nixon's efforts, polls showed several key Democratic voting blocs remained loyal to the incumbent, including African-Americans, young voters and women.

NY was holding primaries for governor and attorney general on Thursday, with polls set to close at 9:00 p.m.
