Texas man rescues 6 dogs during Hurricane Florence rescue missions

Utility crews from multiple states worked to restore power, and outages were down from a high of more than 900,000 to about 320,000 homes and businesses, almost all in North Carolina. The incident occurred after the toddler and his mother became trapped in their vehicle amid rising flood waters. Flash flood watches extended all the way to Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York and southern New England.

More miles of northbound Interstate 95 in SC, just south of the North Carolina line, have been closed due to flooding from Hurricane Florence, the S.C. Department of Transportation said Tuesday.
