After the sentencing, Andrew Wyatt, the 81-year-old Cosby's publicist claimed that his client - like President Donald Trump's second Supreme court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh - is the victim of a "sex war".

After dozens of women came forward with their stories, and a long and protracted court battle that left many discouraged, justice was finally served as serial predator Bill Cosby was sentenced to 3-10 years in prison for the aggravated indecent assault of Andrea Constand in 2004.

Cosby was up for a maximum of 3 to 10 years and a $25,000 fee. "Evidence is overwhelming that it was planned predation", O'Neill said during the sentencing before saying that Cosby would be classified as a "sexually violent predator" on sex offender registries, undergo lifetime counseling and regularly report to law enforcement.

Cosby said that they had taken his cane, tie, and shoelaces because "they think I will harm myself".

Cosby's lawyers again demanded a mistrial when a prosecutor suggested they were wrong to help a star defense witness write a statement outlining how she said Andrea Constand, the woman Cosby was convicted of drugging and molesting, mused about framing a celebrity.

Gloria Allred, who represents several women accusing Cosby of sexual assault, praised the sentence.

In the meantime, his family and aides are pressing his case in the court of public opinion. "He violated Ms. Constand's trust, which, unbeknownst to her, he spent time and energy cultivating with the specific intent of having sexual contact with her". The $400 million prison opened two months ago.

"Bill Cosby is out of options", said veteran Pennsylvania prosecutor Jarrett Ferentino, who wasn't involved in the case.
