Hope Hicks: Trump's ex-adviser joins Fox

Hope Hicks, former right-hand woman to President Donald Trump and his trusted communications chief, is set to join Fox as an executive vice president and Chief Communications Officer.

New Fox is the company that will remain after 21st Century Fox completes it's sale to the Walt Disney Company. (While Rice and Walden's new roles had already been thoroughly reported on in the entertainment trade press for months, the Hicks hire was dropped without any advance warning - the surprise combining with her significant public profile for maximum impact).

Hicks joining FOX is just more proof of the inexorable bond between the White House, Rupert Murdoch, and Fox News - and how much Fox News will have 24/7 access to the Trump administration.

At the time of her departure, Hicks was one of Trump's longest-running advisors.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted that Fox was "beyond lucky" to have her.
