Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande's whirlwind engagement couldn't survive the death of her ex Mac Miller.

USA TODAY has reached out to Davidson and Grande's representatives for comment.

Davidson spoke about his mental health issues just last week during Weekend Update.

Grande and Davidson met on "Saturday Night Live" two years ago when she was the musical guest. In a statement to People, a source said the engagement was "too much too soon" and that Grande needs time to heal.
