'We’re fighting': Floyd Mayweather says Khabib Nurmagomedov bout will happen

The fight would be Mayweather's second against a mixed martial artist, having defeated Conor McGregor in the tenth round of a similar crossover bout in 2017.

Floyd Mayweather can just keep the millions rolling in by repeatedly coming out of retirement to fight whoever happens to hold the UFC lightweight title.

Mayweather seems to have accepted the challenge. He's ready to go, so now he's leaving it up to Nurmagomedov's side to make good on his call out. "He called me out, so you have to come to my world", Mayweather told TMZ Sports on Wednesday. He added, "I'm my own boss. We intend to go to the end".

Mayweather retired after the McGregor fight, but now he's pondering the idea of a comeback against Khabib and then a rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

What warrants a violent eyeroll, though, is another claim Mayweather made in the interview.

Khabib extended his unbeaten MMA record to 27-0 when defeating McGregor by a fourth round submission on October 7th. "I can't say what's going on in Khabib's end but I can make it happen on my end". Probably $US100m more, guaranteed. "It could be somewhere upwards of $110m to $200m guaranteed".

But UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who is a teammate of Nurmagomedov, declared the match-up a joke.
