Turkish Video Allegedly Shows Saudi Agent Posing as Khashoggi

A Turkish ruling party official called the footage evidence of a Saudi cover-up, while another official described the man seen in the video as a "body double".

"Khashoggi's clothes were probably still warm when Madani put them on", the Turkish official told CNN.

Turkish state-run broadcaster TRT also reported that a man who entered the consulate was seen leaving the building in Khashoggi's clothes.

Saudi Arabia said 18 Saudis were arrested and that several top intelligence officials were fired.

Khashoggi went missing on October 2 after he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Turkey's pro-government media published new claims Monday linking the crown prince to Khashoggi's death after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to reveal the "naked truth" about the case.

The journalist has relatives in Saudi Arabia and his three children who hold USA citizenship.

The comments from Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir were some of the most direct yet from Riyadh, which has given multiple and conflicting accounts about Khashoggi's killing on October 2, first denying his death and later admitting it amid an worldwide outcry.

Former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, a senior Cabinet minister during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme it was clear the death of Mr Khashoggi "was authorised at the highest level".

Al-Jubeir is on a two-day visit to Indonesia and has a separate meeting with Retno on Tuesday.

Saudi authorities have said Khashoggi died in an "altercation" with Saudi officials at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

"I see things that are deceptive every day", he said at a CNN event in NY after he was asked if the Saudi Government had been deceptive about Khashoggi's death in its Istanbul consulate.

Labour's leadership seized on the events in Istanbul to call for arms sales to Saudi Arabia to be halted.

The Turkish officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with government regulations.
