Three $1M Mega Millions Tickets Sold In Gloucester, Camden, Delaware Counties

Mega Millions confirmed that the sole winning ticket of the massive prize was sold in SC.

The numbers drawn in Tuesday night's drawing were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 5.

Mega Millions followed suit in October 2017, resulting in the odds worsening from 1 in 259 million to 1 in 302.5 million.

The winning ticket was sold at a convenience store in Simpsonville, a rural town with a population 22,000. We can't wait for the victor to come forward so we can have them come in and celebrate.

SC law allows winners to remain anonymous as they please, and the state is one of eight which employ the rule.

SC is one of seven states that don't require lottery winners to be publicly identified, CNN affiliate WIS reported.

Mega Millions set a record for lottery jackpots after nobody won the US$1 billion prize on Friday.

But with the rise of nefarious people trying to take advantage of winners, anonymity may be a much more appealing option.

No one has won the Mega Millions jackpot since July 24 when 11 co-workers in California split $543 million.

Tonight was the historical $1.6 billion jackpot for Mega Millions.

There were 34 second-prize winners of $1 million.

Mega Millions tickets are $2 and are sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Gordon Medenica, lead director of the Mega Millions Group, said: "The moment we've been waiting for finally arrived and we couldn't be more excited". The prize is estimated to be worth $620 million in Wednesday's drawing, one of the largest in the Powerball's history. A ticket sold in OH is among the 36 second-prize tickets worth $1million each.

SC lottery officials also said that the holder or holders of the winning ticket has 180 days to claim the prize and can stay anonymous. The ticket was sold in Palmetto State. If no victor is selected in Tuesday's drawing, the jackpot will increase to $2 billion for Friday's drawing.

Depending on the state, winners have from 180 days to a year to claim their prize.

According to the California Lottery, the ticket was sold at the Safeway store on Taraval in the city's West Portal neighborhood. Meanwhile here in the Tar Heel State, the NC Education Lottery says there were some winners in the drawing.

The Mega Millions announced the victor of its $1.6 billion jackpot on Tuesday night.

Mega Millions officials count on enormous jackpots to draw in players who would ordinarily avoid participating.
