The Football Association has confirmed that the former Manchester United and Everton forward will earn his 120th cap in a clash with the US at Wembley on November 15.

"I agreed with Wayne's decision to retire from England in August 2017".

The 33-year-old - who is second on the all-time list of appearances, six behind Peter Shilton's record of 125 - last appeared for England in the 3-0 win against Scotland in November 2016.

Rooney, a record goalscorer for both Manchester United and England, has not played global football for almost two years.

Doomed jet's black box recovered from Java Sea, Indonesian media says
The diver added only "small pieces" of the aircraft have been found and the search had gradually closed in on the black box. Lion Air flight JT 610 was traveling from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang when it crashed into the Java Sea on Monday.

Although Harry Kane is the current England captain, he will give the armband over to Rooney for the special occasion. "It's fitting that the match will be against the US and I hope that both sets of fans enjoy the game".

His 12 goals in 21 DC appearances set up a meeting with Columbus Crew, but Rooney missed from the spot in DC's penalty shoot-out defeat following a 2-2 draw.

The match at Wembley will be Rooney's 120th in an England shirt and he has a record of 53 goals for his country.

He will not be a part of England's squad for a Nations League clash against Croatia at Wembley three days after the United States game.

He added that the adjoining Sanaa global airport was still open to air traffic from the United Nations and other relief agencies. After UN-backed peace talks collapsed in September , the coalition announced it was relaunching an assault on Hodeida.

"That would make more sense than saying: "Thanks for playing for England, Wayne, here's another game for you". Some of the monies raised will go towards the Wayne Rooney Foundation.

The statement added: "Following this FA initiative, the Wembley crowd will now get the chance to show their appreciation of one of England's greats as the curtain comes down on a glittering Three Lions career that spanned three FIFA World Cups and three UEFA European Championships".

Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted he might reunite with his former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney in the MLS.

"Wayne is England's record goalscorer and had a superb worldwide career".
