The Pakistani prime minister has said that India and Pakistan should learn lessons from the past to resolve the differences over Jammu and Kashmir while asserting that if India takes one step forward then Pakistan will take two steps forward toward friendship during the foundation laying ceremony of a pilgrimage corridor.

While talking to the media persons in Islamabad before leaving for Kartarpur, Dr Faisal said that this was the initiative of Prime Minister Imran Khan which was widely appreciated including the people in India.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, government officials, Indian delegate and foreign diplomats also attending the groundbreaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor.

All we need is just two leaderships on both sides of the border to solve this issue.

He said Kashmir is the only dispute between the two countries which could be resolved, as there is not a single issue under the sun which could not be amicably settled. "Makes it sound so simple", Omar wrote on twitter. Pakistan had last week announced that it would develop the corridor on their respective side of the border to help Indian pilgrims visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. It connects the twin Sikh shrines of Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan and Dera Baba Nanak Sahib in India through a 4.5 km stretch of road. Previous disbelief in India over Khan's promises speaks to what analysts say is a fundamental truth about Pakistan.
