Magnitude 7.0 natural disaster causes damage in Southcentral Alaska

‎ The Trans Alaska Pipeline, one of the longest crude oil pipelines in the world, was shut down as a ‎precautionary measure so crews could inspect the system, but returned to service after no damage ‎was found.‎.

"These numbers can change by the minute, people can be expected to feel aftershocks for some time", Baldwin told CNN.

A tsunami warning was issued for Cook Inlet, which links Anchorage with the Gulf of Alaska, but it was later canceled.
