Following Manchester United's 5-1 win over Cardiff City, Paul Pogba downplayed any rift with Jose Mourinho and thanked him for making him a better player.

The Portuguese gaffer was replaced by former Red Devils player, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 25-year-old's final Premier League start under Mourinho came in a disappointing 2-2 draw with Southampton in the Premier League last month.

"He (Solskjaer) is only two days with us but we had a few meetings".

Video shot from a charter plane captured the magnitude of the volcanic event in the Sunda Strait, between Sumatra and Java. By late afternoon on Sunday, the disaster agency had raised the death toll to 222, with 843 injured and 28 missing.

United still face a huge challenge to make up an eight-point gap just to qualify for next season's Champions League via a top-four finish.

"It's not easy, I don't think it will be easy, but I'm looking forward to it and I think the boys are looking forward to playing at Old Trafford".

Solskjaer's first home game at the helm comes against Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day, with Bournemouth then visiting Old Trafford this weekend.

"If you lose the ball, win it back, and play the United way - attacking football, entertaining football. He said we need to play more forward, to be more unsafe in attack, to run more, to compete with everything and that's exactly what we did today and we are happy because of that".

Trump vows allies won't 'take advantage' after Mattis exit
US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday the official withdrawal of his nation's troops from Syria after Daesh was defeated. USA forces are still in Manbij and the Turkish-backed fighters will not advance until they withdraw, Hamoud told Reuters.

Matic said, per Manchester Evening News: "We know it's not only the manager's fault that results are not good, but this is football and we have to carry on and to fight for the club".

"I said the same to these lads as I do back in Molde: Work harder than them, enjoy yourselves, pass it forward, run forward, if you lose it, I don't mind as long as you work to win it back and they did".

United had renewed energy on Saturday though, and Solskjaer was pleased with how the players implemented his ideas.

On Christmas Eve, Trump airs more grievances
