Trump's initial claims of an immediate withdrawal have now appeared to stall, after the president's national security adviser, John Bolton, admitted on Sunday that there's no timeline in place for the exodus and there's a number of conditions that must to be met first before the exit can commence.

John Bolton said Sunday, during a visit to Israel, the military pull out depends on defeating the Islamic State terrorist group.

Trump originally announced the Pentagon would carry out a "full" and "rapid" withdrawal of USA troops from Syria on December 19, stating "we have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency".

Bolton, often seen as a hawk in matters of U.S. defense, stated that the United States enjoys many forms of influence in Syria even after an army withdrawal and is committed to the safety and security of the Kurds even after a USA withdrawal.

The White House announced last month that ISIS had been defeated in Syria and the USA would withdraw 2,000 troops from the war-stricken nation.

Chargers Beat Ravens, Advance To Face Patriots In AFC Divisional Round
The victor of tonight's Colts-Titans game will likely travel to Houston next weekend to take on the Texans in the Wild Card round. To keep the Ravens defense high-strung, the Chargers will have to incorporate the run to enhance their playoff success.

The move prompted the resignations of United States defence secretary Jim Mattis and top U.S. official Brett McGurk, as analysts and military experts said the threat posed by IS still remains. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who is normally a close ally of the president, have said a quick withdrawal would be a mistake, in part because it could leave the region vulnerable to a possible ISIS resurgence.

"I never said we are doing it that quickly".

The remarks represent a departure from the president's earlier statements about the timeline for US involvement in Syria.
