Nirav Modi is in London, has started a new diamond business

In the Telegraph video interview, taken as he is leaving his Soho office, Modi replies "Sorry no comment" when the Telegraph reporter asks him if he has got political asylum in the United Kingdom and repeats this when asked, if he is the subject of an extradition request and whether he is still trading in diamonds. Both have looted India and are called Modi. Modi is living in a luxurious apartment situated in London's West End.

The Telegraph said Nirav Modi walks his dog from his home to his new office every day. The newspaper also posted a video where the absconding bank-fraud accused, sporting a 10000-pounds (Rs 9 lakh approximately) Ostrich Hide jacket, is seen responding to a volley of questions with repeated "No comments".

'Nirav Modi is living in a "three-bedroom flat occupying half of a floor of the landmark Centre Point tower block, with views across London".

Reacting to the developments related to Nirav Modi's extradition and the fugitive businessman running a legitimate business in London, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on Saturday said the government would do everything that is necessary to bring him back.

In December a year ago, the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) served notice to Nirav Modi, his family members and his companies to recover over Rs 7,000 crore owed to Punjab National Bank (PNB). The rent of the apartment is estimated to be around 17,000 pounds a month.

Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi are the prime accused in the Punjab National Bank scam.

The United Kingdom has responded to the Red Corner Notice issued by the agency against Nirav in June previous year, he said.

On Friday, hours before details about Nirav's whereabouts and life in London emerged, authorities demolished his seaside bungalow in Alibaug through a controlled explosion.
