Weather warning for snow and ice to continue into Monday

On Friday night (8 March), the meteorological service issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for nine counties.

The "be aware" warning, which came into place at 9pm on Sunday evening, is now in force until 10am today (Monday).

However, this time, it's valid for the entire country - and it involved snow and ice. We anticipate scattered snow showers in the mountains along and north of Interstate 70.

Winds will pick up going into Sunday morning with gales forecast to develop along the Atlantic coast.
